The Union Payroll Specialist is responsible for administering payroll functions for union employees within Best-in-Class Technology Services (BCTS). They will work closely with Payroll Management and other peers on weekly and bi-weekly pay cycles to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and completion of payroll, specifically for union members. The role involves ensuring compliance with union-specific agreements, as well as federal, state, and local financial legal requirements. This includes studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary actions. The Union Payroll Specialist will also maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist processing weekly payroll and any daily payroll adjustments.
- Complete union audits and union reporting to ensure consistent accuracies.
- Assist with processing and distributing annual W-2’s.
- Analyze employee garnishments for proper placement in COINS/Payroll company.
- Assist with completing employee verifications when necessary.
- Structure taxes & withholding changes accordingly.
- Checking timesheets for accuracy.
- Handling direct deposit requests and data.
- Basic knowledge in excel, be able to input data without harming a formula.
- Collecting timesheet data and payroll information.
- Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs.
- Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc.
- Preparing and processing paychecks and cash deposits.
- Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
- Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
- Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations.
- Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
- Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.
- Managing the payroll support email folder.
- Assist with Certified payroll reporting.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of union payroll processing experience for at least 100 hourly employees.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Accounting related degree or related certification.
- Experience with union reporting/payments.
- Experience related to construction or service industry.
